Dog-Friendly Breckenridge

We love Breck! We’ve had many family trips here over the years, and it’s one of the best mountain towns in Colorado. Breckenridge is only a 90-minute drive from Denver. The town itself has lots of dog-friendly patios, and there are plenty of outdoor adventures nearby for you to enjoy with your dog!

What to Do

Boat Ride on Lake Dillon

The Frisco Bay Marina is about a twenty-minute drive from Breckenridge. You can rent a pontoon boat for two hours and drive all over Lake Dillon! Dogs are allowed, and Alice has boated with the family several times. She loves it!

Gondola Ride

Dogs are allowed on the free BreckConnect Gondola, which takes you up to Peak 8, where you’ll find tons of patio seating for drinks and food.

Hiking

There are so many trails to choose from! Here are some of our favorites:

McCullough Gulch - An unbelievable hike with waterfalls and a alpine lake. You’ll need to reserve a parking pass (days or weeks ahead of time) and take a shuttle to the start of the trail; or take the shuttle from Breck.

Colorado Trail to Hippo Trail

Big Baldy Loop

Baker’s Tank

Sallie Barber Mine

Where to Eat & Drink

There are lots of patios in Breck in the summer, and I have never encountered one that did not allow dogs. However, outdoor seating is popular! Some places have limited outdoor tables, so you may have to wait a long time if you aren’t there right when the restaurants open.
